UVs Again!

Bust concepts

So here I've taken a male bust and formed some quick silhouette sketches from them. Anything goes, challenging myself to see how I can make the craziest of additions to the basic male bust work.

Some of them were a bit of a stretch for me...

UV Layout

I layed out some UVs for a safe!... Fun times.

Base Head Model

Today I modeled a base head in Maya. The eyes nose and mouth were the most challenging parts, from there it was all down hill. I sorta felt like once I mirrored my head, the shape was very wrong... I spent way too much time noodling the shape of the head. I could definitely use more practice!

Part of a Face and A Low poly Resource tower

Today I worked on a Low poly model of a face, as well as a low poly model for a resource tower that I previously posted the Proxe model of. For the Resource tower I have added more detail to it and cleaned up a bit of the geometry.

Today I have done a low poly sculpt of a female torso so that I can get used to Z-brush. The interface is daunting, and the camera system is a cumbersome piece of crap. I had lots of trouble with the shift+Drag snapping function. Aka... I wanted it gone! Whenever I was smoothing out a part of the sculpture with the shift key my cursor would occasionally move off of the object causing the camera to frame up an area that I wasn't working on. =/

Other than that... It was really really fun working with this program! I can't wait to become a pro.

Proxy model

Today I have made a proxy model of the following piece of artwork. Pretty straight forward, and using only the most basic of shapes to rough out the correct proportions and sizes.

Playing with Mudbox

Today I have fooled around in mudbox to get the gist of the program and how it works. Using the following images as reference, I have digitally sculpted the bust of a faerie.
